What Is JoSAA Round 6 Seat Allotment?
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts centralized counselling for admissions to top engineering institutions in India, including:
- IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology)
- NITs (National Institutes of Technology)
- IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology)
- GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes)
Round 6 is the final round for IIT admissions and the last JoSAA round before CSAB special rounds for NIT+ institutes.

What To Do After Getting a Seat?
If you’ve been allotted a seat:
Step 1: Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee
- ₹15,000 (SC/ST/PwD categories)
- ₹30,000 (Others)
Step 2: Upload Documents Online
- Class 10 & 12 marksheets
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- JEE Main/Advanced Scorecard
- Seat Allotment Letter
Step 3: Complete Online Verification by July 20
You’ll get confirmation or queries from the verifying authority. Respond promptly.
Important Rules
- No Float/Slide option available in Round 6 – You either Accept or Withdraw
- IIT seats cannot be withdrawn
- Withdrawal allowed only for NIT+ institutes till July 21
